Description
Sikadur®-31 CF Slow
Component A (Resin)
- This is usually the epoxy resin part of the system.
- It has a specific color (often white or light-colored) to help ensure proper mixing.
- Provides workability and adhesion to various materials.
- Ensures impermeability, making the final product resistant to moisture and liquid penetration.
Component B (Hardener)
- This is the curing agent, responsible for initiating the hardening reaction when mixed with Component A.
- It has a different color (often dark-colored) to visually confirm thorough mixing.
- Contributes to the mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance of the final product.
Key Properties of Sikadur®-31 CF Slow
- Moisture Tolerant: Can be applied in humid conditions or on slightly damp surfaces.
- Thixotropic Nature: Non-sag consistency allows for application on vertical and overhead surfaces without slumping.
- Strong Adhesion: Bonds to a wide range of materials, including concrete, stone, ceramics, fiber cement, metals, glass, and some plastics.
- High Strength: Provides excellent mechanical properties, including compression, tension, and shear strength.
- Shrinkage-Free Hardening: Ensures dimensional stability after curing.
- Impermeability: Blocks liquids and vapors, preventing moisture penetration.
- Chemical Resistance: Resists various chemicals, making it suitable for industrial and structural applications.
- No Primer Needed: Direct bonding to most surfaces without requiring an additional primer.
How to Mix and Apply Sikadur®-31 CF Slow
- Mixing Procedure:
- It is advised to mix Component A (Resin) and Component B (Hardener) in the exact ratio provided by the manufacturer (typically 2:1 by weight or volume).
- Use a low-speed mixer (300-400 rpm) to blend until the mixture achieves a uniform color, indicating proper mixing.
- Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the container to ensure thorough incorporation.
- Curing Time:
- Initial setting time depends on temperature but is typically several hours.
- Full mechanical strength is reached after several days (refer to manufacturer data for exact curing times).
Usage Applications
- Structural Bonding: Joins elements like concrete, steel, wood, and fiber cement.
- Rapid Repairs: Fixes damaged corners, cracks, and voids in structures.
- Overhead and Vertical Repairs: Ideal for ceilings, beams, and vertical walls due to its non-sag properties.
- Joint Sealing and Crack Filling: Seals gaps to protect against moisture and chemical exposure.
This epoxy adhesive is highly reliable in construction, infrastructure repairs, and industrial bonding applications. Proper mixing and application ensure maximum performance and durability.
